Originally hailing from Surfers Paradise, a small town on the eastern coast of Australia (and yes, that’s a real name), Shannon Long broadened the connotation of the quintessential “girl next door” when she became Playboy’s October 1998 Playmate. While her pictorial is all aboout getting wild outdoors, Long had some potentially surprising insight into Australian women: “Aussies don’t discuss sex. If a woman talks about it, well, she’s not someone you take home to Mom.” Then again, why speak when showing is so much more powerful?
