Such an absolute honor to have you on Playboy! Tell us about your modeling journey so far. Since being discovered at the age of 12, I’ve been blessed to walk some of the biggest runways in fashion. I was the first African American woman to have two major beauty contracts with Maybelline and Covergirl at once. I’ve had a very prestigious career. I’ve been blessed. I’m working on my first feature film as director.
What’s the one thing you absolutely can’t start your day without? Prayer.
How would you describe your personal style? Very feminine, delicate, chic, edgy.
What’s a hidden talent or skill you have that surprises people? My first love was ballet, I am a dancer.
What inspired you to pursue your current career or passion? It was in my destiny, there was no other option. I’m supposed to be creative.
What has been the most unexpected lesson you’ve learned along the way? Holding space for myself, being human in front of the public. Learning from the mistakes I’ve made and healing keeps going.
What’s a dream project or goal you’re excited to work on in the future? Directing my first film. It’s my dream to be one of the best female directors in Hollywood.
If your life were a movie, what would the title be? The story of Jessica White.
What’s your favorite guilty-pleasure snack or meal? I don’t have a guilty pleasure meal, I eat what I want. Life is too short.
How do you unwind and recharge after a busy day? Red wine and a good documentary, silence.
If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? You’re gonna beautifully survive everything that’s thrown at you kid. So take a load off, It only goes up from here.
